The Fort Frances Lakers will be sporting a new look in the New Year.
The Lakers received their new jerseys, based on the Carolina Hurricanes’ template, at their board meeting Dec. 22.
Dale Fortes, owner of the local Boston Pizza, presented the uniforms.
The company also was welcomed as a new sponsor for the community-based Junior ‘A’ squad.
The Lakers had been wearing the uniforms of the old Fort Frances Jr. Sabres for the first part of their inaugural season in the SIJHL.
Fans can get their first look at the new uniforms in action when the Lakers host the K&A Wolverines on Jan. 14 at 7:30 p.m. at the Ice For Kids Arena.
