Lakers back on track midway through road trip

The Fort Frances Lakers made sure one hiccup in their recent run of success didn’t blossom into a full-blown losing skid.
Blake Boaz netted the eventual game-winner in the second period as the Lakers downed the host Sioux Lookout Flyers 3-1 last night.
Jon Sinclair and Jaret Leclair (empty-netter) had the other goals for the Lakers (26-12-3), who pulled within two points of the first-place Wisconsin Wilderness.
The goal scorer for Sioux Lookout was not available.
The Lakers will wrap up their four-game road trip, which had opened with an 8-2 loss in Dryden on Tuesday night, with visits to Duluth tomorrow night and Spooner, Wis. on Sunday afternoon.
The squad then returns to home ice this coming Tuesday (Jan. 25) for a rematch with Sioux Lookout at 7:30 p.m.
