The best team in the SIJHL had the league’s best player this past week.
Fort Frances Lakers’ forward Bryson Jasper was named the Amyotte’s Awards & Promotions player-of-the-week after garnering four points in two games.
The 20-year-old from Rainy River had a goal in the Lakers’ 5-4 overtime win against the Minnesota Iron Rangers last Wednesday (Nov. 12).
He then racked up three assists in a 5-3 victory over the English River Miners on Saturday.
Jasper has 11 goals and seven assists in 17 games this season and currently is riding a four-game point streak (four goals and four assists).
He is the first Laker to receive the honour since Colton Spicer was recognized after the first week of the season.
The Lakers currently are in the middle of a 10-day break from action.
Their next game is slated for this Tuesday (Nov. 25) against the visiting Dryden GM Ice Dogs.
