If the Fort Frances K of C Knights squad is still streamlining its offence, the rest of the Northwestern Ontario PeeWee “AA” circuit is in a peck of trouble.
The Knights scorched the Kenora Thistles 13-1 in Kenora Saturday afternoon, and then returned home to the Ice for Kids Arena where they rolled over the Dryden Apollos 9-1.
Fort Frances built a 5-1 first-period lead, before collecting two in the second and six in the third to support winning goalie T.J. Pocock.
Mitchell Cain and Matt DePiero each connected for hat tricks in the win over the Thistles, with Cain adding three assists for a six-point outing.
Evan McCabe had a pair of goals and had three points, while Nathan Calder produced a four-point performance with a goal and three assists.
Other goal scorers included Luke Judson with a pair, and Josh Scott and Zach McCool with singles. Joe Basaraba helped out with two assists, while Liam Chisholm was the only Thistles player to beat Pocock.
DePiero lit the lamp three times on Sunday, on his way to a four-point game. His effort was backed up by Judson and Cain each with a pair of goals, and Scott and McCool with one apiece.
Colin Barton had three assists, while Brady Caul picked up his first PeeWee “AA” win between the pipes for Fort Frances. Eric Napish had the lone goal for the Apollos.
