The fifth-annual Canadian Kitty Cat Championships will take place on Sand Bay in front of Rusty Myers Flying Service this Saturday and Sunday (March 13-14).
“It’s one of the larger events in the youth snowmobile racing market,” noted Al Boivin, who is organizing the event.
Competitors are youngsters aged four-12 who race Kitty Cats and mini 120s in stock, improved stock, and modified classes. There also is a new junior novice class this year in which competitors will be racing 340 cc snowmachines.
All the top drivers from Ontario and several states will be at the event.
Registration will take place Saturday starting at 8 a.m. Qualifying races then will take place all day Saturday, with last chance qualifying and finals on Sunday.
“The smaller kids and stock classes will race on Saturday, and things will get faster as the weekend goes on,” said Boivin.
Admission is free for spectators and there will be a concession stand on site.
