Kitchen Creek scrambles very successful

There’s more to being a member than just being a golfer.
Because of all the members and non-members who participated donating $25 per scramble to Kitchen Creek . . .
Because of the volunteers who donated their time to help pull this all together . . .
And because of the local businesses who were very supportive in donating prizes to the draw table, with special mention to Brockie’s Jewellers and Sight and Sound Audiotronics . . .
. . . the two “Scrambles to Benefit Kitchen Creek” were very successful, raising almost $4,000 (plus refreshment sales).
This exceeded everyone’s expectations, and shows just how much can be done when like-minded people pull together and do just a little extra to help out.
Thanks to everyone involved, we’ve managed to end the season in a very upbeat frame of mind—and are looking forward to next year with a lot of enthusiasm and a very positive attitude.
Winners of the second scramble, in which 56 players participated this past Saturday, were Jim and Krista Ballard with a net score of 51. Second was the team of Maurice Fillion and Paul Bock, with third going to Hugh McKinnon and Jim Fowler.
Great playing, folks!
Again, thanks to everyone who played in or contributed to the scrambles.
And let’s all keep in mind, particularly at this time moreso than ever before in the history of Kitchen Creek, there is more to being a member than just being a golfer.
In related news, a reminder to all members that we really need all or a part of your 2006 membership fee as soon as possible. Please contact Maurice Fillion at 274-1416.
