Kenora wins Midget tourney

Kenora Canadian Tire rallied from a three-goal deficit in the third period to beat the Emo Cowboys 5-4 in the final of the Fort Frances Midget ‘A’ tournament yesterday at the Ice for Kids Arena.
Chris Mutz scored a pair of goals, with Charlie Debungee and Colin Kaemingh adding singles, to give the Cowboys a 4-1 lead heading into the final 20 minutes of play.
But Kenora got goals from Darcy Williamson and Carl Ginn early in the third period to cut the deficit to one.
John Hendy then netted a pair of markers in less than a minute to give Kenora the lead—and eventually the tourney crown.
In other tournament action yesterday, Fort Frances OPP defeated the Fort Frances Legion 6-4 in the consolation final.
Garrett Howells led the charge for the OPP with a natural hat trick in the second period. Also scoring for the OPP were Steve Williams (two) and Darren Foster.
Ben Klyne (two), Jason Matthews, and Justin Rose replied for the Legion.
