Kellar nets six goals

With over a month passing between games, Sara Kellar had plenty of pent-up energy to unleash—not to mention a stockpile of super shots.
Kellar racked up six goals as the La Place Rendez-Vous Rage doubled the Fine Foods Fury 8-4 in Borderland Women’s Indoor Soccer League action last night at Fort High.
The Vous hadn’t seen competition since March 2—winning their following game by forfeit and then taking March Break off.
Then league play was kiboshed for two-straight weeks by conflicts with other events that necessitated use of the large gym.
But the Rage (7-1-1) played like they hadn’t missed a beat as they won their third-straight game to stay one point up on the second-place Wright Physiotherapy Rockettes (7-2).
Jessica Wilson added the other two tallies for the Rage.
Bryanna Dustin and Abby Sanders scored two goals apiece for the third-place Fury (4-5).
In the evening’s other game, the Rockettes used two goals from rookie Lorina Fryer to down the Shear Serenity Strykers 4-2.
Mary Waghorn and Maggie Jean, the league’s top sniper with 17 goals, added one each.
Sydney Radigan and Becky Selman replied for the cellar-dwelling Strykers (1-7-1), who now have dropped four-straight games.
The league wraps up its regular season next Wednesday (April 13).
The Strykers will face the Fury at 7 p.m., followed by the Rage and Rockettes battling it out for first place at 8:15 p.m.
The semi-finals will take place on April 20, with the gold- and bronze-medal finals set for April 27.
