At this point, being second will work for Tirzah Keffer.
Keffer and her Muskie girls’ rink of third Samantha Mueller, second Carley Busch, and lead Taylor Hartlin clinched second place in Pool ‘B’ at the all-Ontarios in Toronto with a 7-2 victory over Paul Dwyer High School (Oshawa) this morning.
That put them into the quarter-finals this afternoon against Timiskaming, which went 4-0 to finish first in Pool ‘A.’
The black-and-gold rebounded from a narrow 6-5 loss yesterday afternoon to Northern C.I. and V.S. (Sarnia), which went 4-0 to capture top spot in Pool ‘B.’
The Muskies ended up with a 3-1 record in pool play after having opened with a 9-0 whitewash of Mary Ward (Toronto) on Wednesday and then a 7-4 win over St. Joseph (Nepean) yesterday morning.
The semi-finals are set for tomorrow morning, with the gold-medal game slated that afternoon.
