Keffer reaches goal of making OFSAA

It was a four-year process for Isaac Keffer but on Tuesday afternoon the Muskie curler was able to accomplish his goal of leading his rink to the OFSAA curling championship by winning the NWOSSAA playdowns in Terrace Bay.
“I was really excited about finally being able to do it,” Keffer enthused.
“I had picked up a silver at NWOSSAA when I was in Grade 9, so me and the other guys on our team had been really close to heading there,” he noted.
“So to actually make it to OFSAA is a really great feeling.”
Keffer, along with third Cody Heyens, second Ian Grant, lead Jordan Sokoliuk, and fifth Luke Esselink, punched their ticket to the all-Ontarios on March 23-26 in Thunder Bay by finishing first in the seven-team round-robin with a 5-1 record.
The Muskie foursome controlled their own destiny, and prevented any chance of a possible tie-breaker to determine the NWOSSAA champ, as they knocked off Superior (Thunder Bay) 9-1 in the morning draw before downing Westgate (Thunder Bay) 8-1.
“We went out into that last game with absolutely everything we had to make sure that we would win,” Keffer explained.
“That entire event we were really playing together really well, and we utilized our strengths,” he noted.
“So we were really excited to have won in the end.”
