Kangoo boots the latest fitness option now offered here

Kangoo Jumps rebound shoes are the latest thing in workouts.
Local Curves owner Angel Andrushuk and her daughter, Olivia, have been exploring Kangoo boots as a new fitness option. The boots offer a low-impact workout, kind of like a mini trampoline.
They recently headed to Toronto to take a course in teaching Kangoo classes.
“You think you’re in good shape but you find out very quickly that you aren’t,” noted Angel Andrushuk.
She and Olivia trained before they went, running five km every day along with their regular workouts. They also worked out on the boots for a month before they left.
They should have known how tough it was going to be when the instructor told them to bring three changes of clothing per day.
“Nothing could have prepared us for that course,” said Andrushuk. “We have never sweated that much in our entire lives!”
Her daughter said the first hour was the worst.
“They made us do the hardest part first,” she recalled. “It was less intense for the rest of the weekend.
“They gave us the hardest hour first so we’d know what to expect.”
They worked out in the boots for eight-nine hours a day for three days, and have matching scars from the boots rubbing on their legs.
A normal workout in the books is 45 minutes to an hour, including the warm-up. Anyone, at any fitness level, can do the workouts despite Andrushuk’s description of her instructor training sessions.
They had homework every night, studying the base moves and teaching technique.
They also had to develop their own choreography and then teach a class.
Olivia volunteered to teach the first class and felt very confident after the training. She said it was so much fun and all the exercise gave her an endorphin high.
She also is one of the youngest certified instructors in Ontario.
The last day of the course featured a two-km run in the boots and a 45-minute boot camp workout–in the boots. Both mother and daughter said their thighs burned for five days after they got home.
There were all different ages there (from 16-58) and all different body types. Andrushuk said anyone can use the boots and get a really good workout.
The Kangoo boots are recommended for everything from rehabilitation to extreme training. The Toronto weekend definitely was extreme training!
So why Kangoo boots? Why did they take the instructor training? After reading up on all the benefits offered by a Kangoo workout, Andrushuk decided to bring the workouts to Fort Frances.
The Kangoo boots reduce impact up to 80 percent but still offer rebound exercise that is the most efficient, effect, and fun exercise ever developed.
A Kangoo workout is particularly good for someone who has had surgery or a sports injury.
Here are a few good reasons to consider a Kangoo workout: joint protection, injury prevention, improved recovery time, aids in weight loss (25 percent more calorie burn), and increased endurance.
Improved cardio-respiratory fitness, increased bone density, reduction in stress, improved core stability, improved posture, and improved lymphatic drainage are other benefits.
“You’ll notice changes in your body in the first couple of weeks,” Andrushuk said.
