It was hardly the proper way to end a season.
The Fort Frances Junior Wolverines football team has cancelled its final game of the year—and only home contest—scheduled for tomorrow against the Kenora Junior Broncos.
Wolverines’ co-coach Brett Wilson said Kenora refused to follow the same format for games here that they had when the Broncos played host earlier this season.
“They wanted to come and play a super scrimmage format, where we split the field and play two games at once,” he explained.
“Our coaching staff felt that was unfair, especially when they got full games when they hosted.”
Wilson added when the Dryden Junior Eagles found out the Fort/Kenora game was off, they decided to stay home for a fun game involving just their players and families.
