Judson helps sink Sabres Team winless on road trip

The Fort Frances Jr. Sabres were throttled with three-straight losses over the weekend—the first two at the hands of the Schreiber Diesels and last night to the Thunder Bay Bearcats.
The Sabres lost by a pair of 7-5 margins to the Diesels, then fell 3-2 in overtime in Thunder Bay thanks to the effort of Emo’s Luke Judson.
Judson, fresh from a stint with the OHL’s Belleville Bulls, scored the first and last goals of the game (his eighth and ninth of the season).
He opened the scoring on the power play before completing the Bearcats’ comeback little more than two minutes into the extra frame with another power-play effort.
Captain Quinn Amiel led the Sabres’ scoring attack with two goals and four assists over the weekend to remain atop the SIJHL’s scoring race.
Also contributing was veteran Colin Spencer, who registered his first two goals of the season and added two assists.
Matthew York netted three goals while Alessio Tomassetti had a goal and three assists over the three losses.
The Sabres currently are mired in sixth place in the SIJHL—two points back of the Marathon Renegades.
