Jr. squashers tune up in ‘Peg

Three Sunset Country Squash Club juniors made the trip to Winnipeg to compete in the Manitoba Junior Open.
Anniss Seid, the U17 boys’ rep, won four of five matches to capture first place in the top competitive division.
Anika Alexander, the U15 girls’ rep, had a solid tourney with three wins and one loss to capture third place overall.
And Kaitlyn DeGagne, the U17 girls’ rep, won her first match but then lost the next three to complete her weekend.
This tournament was the trio’s last major tune-up for Ontario Winter Games coming up March 4-7 in Sudbury.
The three locals are part of the eight-member Northwestern Ontario Winter Games team, which boasts five competitors from Sunset Country.
