The Muskie court teams welcomed the Dryden Eagles to Fort High on Tuesday afternoon as all four looked to improve their NorWOSSA records.
But when the dust settled, only the junior girls’ basketball squad came away with a victory, cruising to a 42-27 win.
Keira Lindgren led the black-and-gold with a 17-point effort as the team improved to 5-1.
But the senior girls saw their league record fall to 2-4 after losing 36-32 to the Eagles despite a 14-point showing from Mary Strain.
In volleyball action, the Muskie senior boys (2-4) pushed the perennial NorWOSSA powers to the limit here Tuesday afternoon.
But in the end, Dryden prevailed in five sets (25-27, 18-25, 25-15, 25-22, and 13-15).
The junior boys also fell to 2-4 after being swept in straight sets (20-25, 16-25, and 15-25).
All four teams resumed NorWOSSA action today in Kenora, in what is their final meeting with the Broncos prior to the NorWOSSA playoffs Nov. 10 in Dryden.
The Muskies will wrap up the eight-game regular season Tuesday when the Eagles make another visit to Fort High.
