Jr. girls top tourney

If this is the sign of things to come, it’s going to be a long season for anyone not named the Muskies when it comes to junior girls’ basketball.
The Muskies romped through the four-team field over the weekend to capture their home tournament with a 3-0 record.
Fort High beat the St. Thomas Aquinas Saints (Kenora) 42-19 on Friday, then dumped the Dryden Eagles 45-25 and routed the Kenora Broncos 56-17 on Saturday.
The Muskie senior girls’ hoopsters were at a tournament in Dryden and found their scoring touch to go 2-1 and finish second.
In boys’ volleyball action, the junior Muskies finished tied for third at a tournament in Kenora.
The senior squad also was in Kenora for a tourney and lost in a playoff game to the Churchill Trojans.
All four Muskie teams open their NorWOSSA home schedules tomorrow against Dryden beginning at noon.
