Wake up, Maggie, I think I’ve got something to say to you—you’ve got a pretty amazing scoring touch.
Maggie Jean netted six goals in a 7-2 win for the Wright Physiotherapy Rockettes over the Boston Pizza Ball Blasters in Borderland Women’s Indoor Soccer League play last night at Fort High.
The effort also boosted her into the overall league scoring lead with 10 goals.
Lorina Fryer added her second of the season for the Rockettes (2-0).
Savannah Basaraba and Sara Kellar each had their first of the season for the Ball Blasters (0-3).
In the early game, the La Place Rendez-Vous Rage (2-0) kept pace with the Rockettes in the battle for first place with a 4-1 victory over the Fine Foods Fury.
Sisters Adyson and Avery Wilson-Hands each had their second goal of the year while their aunt, Jessica Wilson, netted her third.
Candace McCormick had the other goal.
Abby Sanders notched her first of the season for the fourth-place Fury (1-2).
Action resumes next Wednesday with the Rage and the Rockettes squaring off in a first-place showdown at 7 p.m.
That will be followed by the third-place Shear Serenity Strykers (1-1), who had the bye last night, versus the Ball Blasters.
The Fury have the bye next week.
