One group of Muskie hoopsters survived the bear attack.
The other couldn’t scale the tree high enough to avoid being mauled.
The Fort High senior boys looked solid in a 66-51 win over the Lake of the Woods Bears in Baudette on Tuesday in an exhibition game that served as a showcase of Justin Anderson’s talents.
The most dangerous offensive Muskie scorched the hosts for 26 points.
Caleb McIntosh proved to be a proficient sidekick by chipping in 16.
But the junior squad was not so fortunate, falling by a 48-21 margin (no scorers were available by press time).
In related news, the senior boys beat Dryden 59-30 yesterday.
Anderson led the way with 20 points while McIntosh had 19. Harley Mainville added 11.
With final exams for the first semester looming next week, both teams will be out of action until Jan. 28-29.
The seniors will venture to Roseau, Mn. for a four-team event while the juniors will visit Kenora for the Broncos’ home tourney.
