Fort Frances Lakers’ goalie Tanner Hamilton was named the SIJHL’s player-of-the-week yesterday.
The 20-year-old native of Saskatoon got the start between the pipes for the last three games of the Lakers’ regular season when starter Tyler Ampe was forced to the sidelines due to a suspension.
Hamilton made the most of his opportunity as he earned victories over the Dryden Ice Dogs, Sioux Lookout Flyers, and Thunder Bay North Stars, posting an impressive .931 save percentage along the way.
