Fort Frances angler Bryan Gustafson got off to a solid start yesterday at the season-opening FLW Everstart Southeast Series event on Lake Okeechobee in Florida.
He reeled in five bass for total weight of 10.09 pounds to sit in 37th place going into action today.
That puts he among the top 50 anglers that will qualify for the third and final day of competition tomorrow.
George Kapiton of Inverness, Fla. led the way after Day 1 with a whopping 21.06-pound total.
This weekend’s event is one of four in the Southeast Series that Gustafson will be fishing in this year.
The other three will take place on Lake Seminole in Georgia (March 22-24), the Santee Cooper Lakes in South Carolina (April 19-21), and Lake Guntersville in Alabama (May 3-5).
