Gun show moving here

With the aim of being bigger and better each year, the district’s annual Gun and Hobby Show is set to move to Fort Frances this year.
After initially being held in Barwick, the show will switch to the Fort Frances Curling Club on Saturday, May 7 from 10-4 p.m.
“We’ve built a reputation as one of the premiere shows in the Northwestern Ontario and Manitoba circuit,” said organizer Scott Stafford, noting the reason for the move comes as the previous venue—the community hall in Barwick—was filled to capacity.
Last year’s event saw 543 people come through the door.
“The new space will allow us to grow and add to the experience,” explained Stafford, noting the goal this year is to make it an 80-table show.
“If there’s anybody that’s interested in trying a table, give us a call,” he remarked.
He added they’re still signing up tables and exhibitors, so the exact lineup of who will be at the show remains in the works.
“I’m surprised again by the amount of creativity and selection that this year’s exhibitors will be offering,” Stafford enthused, noting that hobbies help bring the communities together.
Previous years have seen a wide selection of booths and activities at the show, ranging from firearm enthusiasts to craft and hobby booths, door prizes, rack competition, trail photo competition, children’s activities, and more.
