Tyson Morrisseau is heading back to the all-Ontarios.
The Muskie golfer carded a 79 on Friday at the NWOSSAA finals in Geraldton to place second overall in the individual competition behind only Jacob Lugli of the Dryden Eagles.
Both earned berths at the OFSAA championships Oct. 11-13 in Port Elgin for being the top two finishers not associated with the winning team.
This was Morrisseau’s second-straight NWOSSAA silver medal after achieving the feat last year on his home course at Heron Landing (Couchiching).
It also marks back-to-back OFSAA appearances after he travelled to Windsor for last year’s tournament.
Meanwhile, the Muskie contingent—which also included Sheldon Kelly Jr., Kendyn Faragher, Cole Kowalski, and Kaleb Bruyere—came close to advancing as a team after finishing in a tie for second at NWOSSAA with the Churchill Bulldogs (Thunder Bay).
The St. Ignatius Falcons (Thunder Bay) topped the team competition to advance to OFSAA with a combined score of 339, with the Muskies and Bulldogs both three shots behind at 342.
Kelly Jr. tied for 10th with an 86 while Faragher (87), Kowalski (90), and Bruyere (97) rounded out the results for Fort High, which won the NorWOSSA boys’ championship for the first time the previous week.
