Golf tournament raises $7,000

Despite the wet weather last Friday, about 90 golfers took part in the annual Confederation College Scholarship Golf Tournament out at Kitchen Creek.
In the end, more than $7,000 was raised for the college’s scholarship fund.
On the links, the team of Brian Beers, Glenn Jorgenson, Shannon Burton, and Tom Fry captured top honours by carding a 61 total in the 18-hole, best-ball tournament.
Finishing in second place, also with a 61 total, was the team of Donna Lee, Brent Calder, Bob Crowe, and Earl Klyne.
And third place went to the foursome of Brian Hebert, Scott McGinnis, Dale McGinnis, and Pat Szturm with a 66.
