Gobeil rink gunning for police title

The Canadian Police Curling Championship gets underway this weekend in Winnipeg and Scott Gobeil once again will be taking part.
Gobeil will be skipping Team Manitoba at the Granite Curling Club, with this being his 10th appearance at the police nationals.
His rink, which includes third Tom Norton, second Rob Newman, and lead Pete LeDrew, will open play Sunday against the Northwest Territories.
In his second draw Sunday, Gobeil will face last year’s champions from Ontario, who now are dubbed Team Canada. They include Jeff Corey, Garth Mitchell, Don Shane, Troy Izlakar, and Peter Corner.
As noted, Gobeil is no stranger to the police playdowns, having played third on Clint Barton’s winning rink in 1996 when Fort Frances hosted the event.
