With court back in session, Gillons’ is acquitting itself quite well.
The 10-time defending champions of the Fort Frances Women’s Volleyball League wasted little time in entrenching themselves at the top of the standing two weeks into the season, as their six points have them ahead of the rest of the 11-team field.
The Die Hards sit in second with four points, while the Wildcats rest in third spot with three points. The Power Paks, Del’s Angels, and G.I. Jane’s are in a three-way tie for fourth with two points apiece.
Rounding out the field are Crush, the Placers, the Mixed Nuts, and last year’s league finalist Scared Hitless with one point each, while the Rookies have been shut out to this point.
Action resumes tomorrow night at Fort Frances High School and Robert Moore School, beginning at 6:30 p.m.
