Galloway opens racing season

Joey Galloway of Emo, the #01 Modified driver, attended the 2007 season-opener at Deer Creek Speedway in Spring Valley, Mn. (south of Rochester).
Saturday (April 21) was a beautiful spring day, but with a very strong wind blowing at the race track.
With a total car count of 104 in five divisions of racing, Galloway started in seventh position but made his way to the front to win Heat #1 of three heat races.
After the redraw, Galloway started in 12th position of 21 cars in the USRA Modified feature race. He wound up finishing seventh in the final race of the night.
Galloway had the honour of carrying the Canadian flag as the national anthem was sung while Jerry Young, of Blooming Prairie, Mn. (#18), carried the American flag in front when the U.S. national anthem was sung.
Galloway also was at Cedar Lake Speedway on Friday (April 20).
A night of mechanical problems had him run on the bottom of the track, finishing in ninth spot in the feature.
