The complete line-up for the 2005-06 “tour de Fort” Passport series has been confirmed, with organizers looking to sell-out those passports before the first show here Oct. 4.
“There are some passports left, but there are not a whole lot,” Front of House director Barb MacDonell said yesterday.
She added while “tour de Fort” had been pursuing certain acts for a while now, the line-up only recently was confirmed when programming director Kim Cornell got all the final arrangements in place.
“It’s a big mix of music this year,” noted MacDonell.
The lineup includes:
•Toronto’s 24-year-old Rat Pack-era crooner Matt Dusk (Oct. 4);
•Jeff Healey’s Jazz Wizards (Oct. 15);
•Nexus Percussion, a band the New York Times called the “high priests of the percussion world” (Nov. 19);
•folk singer-songwriter Jimmy Rankin (Dec. 14);
•Edmonton-based roots band The McDades (Feb. 4, 2006); and
•Canadian rock hit-maker turned smooth jazz artist Alfie Zappacosta (March 24, 2006).
All shows start at 7:30 p.m. at the Townshend Theatre.
Passports cost $95 for all six shows. They are available on-line at www.tourdefort.com, from MacDonell (274-2544), or every Saturday at the Clover Valley Farmers’ Market.
MacDonell also noted passports will be on sale sometime in the next couple of weeks at the Fort Frances Public Library.
Board members also likely will be calling previous passport-holders who have yet to renew their passports from last year and asking if they’d like to get one for the 2005-06 season.
