The Fort Frances ‘AA’ Novice tangled with their Emo counterparts in a free-wheeling game at the Emo arena recently, with the visitors skating away with a 9-1 win.
The Fort led 2-0 after the first period and 6-0 through two.
Justin Scott led the visitors with two goals, with singles going to Andrew Easton, Kyle Herr, Danny Chapman, George Ossachuk, Kevin Bobczynski, Brian Glavish, and Taylor Jorgenson.
Emo’s tally came late in the second off William Brandon’s stick.
Meanwhile, the Emo Wings flew over the Emo Rockets 3-2. T.J. Roen, Travis Showalter, and A. Maruzak tallied for the Wings while Charlie DeBungee and William Brandon replied for the Rockets.
In PeeWee action, the Emo Panthers edged Emo Gillons’ 1-0 on Daniel Hettinga’s third-period marker at the 5:24 mark. The first and second periods were scoreless thanks to stellar goaltending at both ends.
In Bantam play, the Emo Cowboys blanked the Emo Predators 3-0. Donald Kellar scored once in each of the first and second periods while Jeff Friesen added an insurance tally in the third.
The Emo Selects, in Atom action, could not get the equalizer against the Emo Leafs, losing 3-2. Eric Soucy netted the game-winner with eight minutes to play.
The Selects scored first on Jake Esselink’s goal but the lead only held up for two minutes when Dennis Mutz replied for the Leafs.
Mutz put the Leafs ahead in the second with his second goal of the game before Craig McTavish evened the count at the five-minute mark of the second.
