Fort Frances teams named for aggregate

With the annual aggregate bowling tournament slated here March 14-15, the Fort Frances contingent was finalized Sunday.
Amy Gushulak heads the ladies’ scratch team after bowling a 2,159 score in the 10-game roll-offs, finishing ahead of Sonya Chartrand (2,130) and Carmen Walton (2,116).
Other team members include Debbie Wagner (2,053), Gwenn Amorde (2,045), Kim Gushulak (2,027), and Sharon Larocque (1,868).
The ladies’ handicap team features Janet Ellis (1,837), Iris Gogosha (1,832), Barb Marusyk (1,697), Kayne Shaw (1,692), Pauline Perreault (1,640), and Jan Hall.
On the men’s side, Dino Morelli qualified first for the men’s scratch team with 2,443 pins, well ahead of Terry Dolk (2,323) and Dennis Barras (2,309).
Rounding out the men’s scratch team are Rick Stamarski (2,186), Terry Wilson (2,095), Steve Ballan (2,089), Lou Gauthier (2,079), and Lanny Freeman (2,058).
Mike Freeman (2,024), Don Wood (1,945), Ray Bedard (1,937), Greg Perreault (1,923), John Plichta (1,879), Bob Bosma (1,821), Everett Freeman (1,794), and Jerry Zub (1,746) earned berths on the men’s handicap team.
The two local mixed teams (scratch and handicap) haven’t been chosen yet.
Teams from Dryden, Kenora, Atikokan, and possibly Red Lake are slated to compete in the aggregate here.
