Football team plans to play

After forfeiting last Friday’s game to the River East Kodiaks, the Muskie senior football program looks to be back on solid ground.
The black-and-gold plan to travel to Winnipeg on Thursday for a game against the Maples Marauders.
That decision was made at a meeting yesterday afternoon between school staff, players, and coaches.
“It looks like the boys rounded up a few more players so we are good to go and should have no problems finishing out the schedule,” Fort High athletic director Shane Bliss said in a release.
“We will make a bid to drop a division next year,” Bliss added.
“[But] we feel that the program is in good shape because we have the ‘B’ program started and this helps generate interest.”
Bliss stressed baby steps now will pay off later.
“It will be a few years until we see the marked improvement because of having players in the game for four-six years, but we will continue to build,” he remarked.
“It will not be an overnight success story, but it will happen,” he pledged.
