The Muskie senior boys’ basketball team continued its offensive woes in Kenora, dropping a 53-35 decision to the host Broncos in NorWOSSA action yesterday afternoon.
“We continue to have a lack of scoring punch,” co-coach Paul Noonan said afterwards. “We missed easy shots and missed lay-ups.
“We just couldn’t seem to score.”
Noonan said although it was a low-scoring game (it was just 18-10 for Kenora at the half), the black-and-gold had more than its share of quality chances underneath the basket.
“Casey Anderson had three points and Brian Kosowick had just two points,” he noted. “They had chances [but] we’re not going to win if they’re not scoring.”
Bryce Coyle led the Muskies with seven points while Terry LaBelle and Robert Oliver each added six.
The first-place Broncos improved to 5-0 in league play with the win while the Muskies fell to 3-2.
Meanwhile, the junior hoopsters won their fifth-straight game to start the season with a 62-45 triumph over Kenora. The Muskies led throughout, including a 35-23 lead at the break.
John Sivonen had a game-high 20 points while Evan Woodland added 18.
