Locals curlers will be in Dryden this weekend in hopes of advancing to the men’s district playdowns in Kenora later this month.
Rinks skipped by Don DeBenedet, Kevin Busch, Tom Fry, Lorne Jackson, and Raymond Roy are among the 18 competing at the zone bonspiel, which gets underway Friday at 4 p.m. at the Eagles Landing Club.
Meanwhile, skip Kathie Jackson, third Kim Beaudry, second Kelly Wagar, and lead Stacy Beacham of Fort Frances will travel to Balmertown this week to compete against seven other rinks in their district playdowns.
The top two finishers will advance to the provincial playdowns in Kingston at the end of January.
“We have had a spot to the provincials the past three years so we are hoping to keep our record,” Jackson noted yesterday evening.
