First-place showdown tonight

First place in the Rainy River District Fastball League is on the line tonight when the Sight & Sound Wolves (9-2) travel to Rainy River (9-2).
Barring a tie game, one of the teams will enjoy a one-game advantage in the standings with only five regular-season games left on the schedule.
The league’s top two teams have been locked in a battle for first place since the opening week of the season.
Sight & Sound improved their win total to nine on Thursday with a 21-2 romp over Stratton (5-6) at VanJura Stadium here.
Rainy River kept pace, meanwhile, with a hard-fought 8-5 road victory over Barwick (5-5).
In other RRDFL action tonight, Barwick will look to get back into the win column when they visit Big Island (3-6-1).
International Falls (4-4) will try to move into third place in the standings when they host Big Grassy (2-6-1) while Stratton looks to get back to .500 when they host last-place Sabaskong (1-8).
Tonight’s action all gets underway at 7 p.m.
