Fine for walleye over-limit

the MNR

A Wisconsin angler must pay $1,750 for possessing an over-limit of walleye.
Thomas Eake of Sheboygan Falls was convicted under the Ontario fishery regulations for possessing an over-limit of over-sized walleye.
Eake also is not allowed to fish in Ontario for one year.
All of his fish were seized and forfeited to the Crown.
Court heard that on July 23, Eake was contacted by a conservation officer while fishing on Red Lake.
Eake’s non-resident sportfishing licence allowed him to possess four walleye, of which only one could be over 46 cm long.
Instead, Eake had nine walleye, eight of which were beyond the allowable length.
Justice of the Peace Marj Pasloski heard the case Aug. 19 in Red Lake.
