Members of the Border Skating Club shone at the Skate Canada Northern Ontario STARskate championships in Sault Ste. Marie on Feb. 13-15.
Their results from the “Festival of Stars” competition were as follows:
•Jenna Wilson—2nd, Junior Bronze Women’s Freeskate (flight 4) and 7th, Junior Bronze Women’s Freeskate final;
•Alexa Kadikoff—4th, Junior Bronze Women’s Freeskate (flight 3);
•Sophie Potvin-Begin—7th, Senior Bronze Women’s Freeskate (flight 1);
•Chloe Hudson—3rd, Junior Bronze Women’s Freeskate (flight 2) and 2nd, Junior Bronze Women’s Freeskate final;
•Jillian Bobczynski—1st, Senior Bronze Women’s Freeskate (flight 2) and 1st, Senior Bronze Women’s Freeskate final; and
•Michael Nelson—1st, Junior Silver Men’s Freeskate final
Nelson, Bobczynski, and Hudson now will represent Northern Ontario in singles at the Provincial STARskate Championship in Waterloo on March 14.
Nelson also will be competing in the Juvenile Pairs event at the Trillium Cup with Sophie Potvin-Begin.
The Border Skating Club is very proud of these atheletes who represented our region and club extremely well.
