Fiddle champ bringing show to Emo

Press Release

Renowned Canadian fiddle champion Scott Woods and his all-star band present “Fiddling Up A Storm!” on Wednesday, May 9 at 7 p.m. at the Royal Canadian Legion in Emo.
Tickets cost $25 for adults and $10 for children aged six-12 (those five and under are free), which are available by calling the Emo Legion at 482-2250.
This uplifting two-hour, Branson-style live show features lots of Canadian old-time fiddle music, traditional country songs, Western Swing tunes, Country Gospel favorites, fancy instrumentals, sweet harmonies, smooth vocals, sensational step dancing, family humour, and inspirational stories.
And, of course, it will include some of Woods’ famous trick fiddling: front and back somersaults and walking on a barrel–all while playing his fiddle.
You will hear the flurry of fast fingers on a fiddle or guitar similar to a hurricane or twister, or maybe the calm before the storm.
Joining Woods on stage in “Fiddling Up A Storm” is his sister, Kendra (Woods) Norris, a multi-instrumentalist and certainly no stranger to old-time fiddling.
She’s won the Canadian Duet Fiddle Championship title three times with her brother, as well as several solo wins in various classes, including the 2016 Canadian Open (age 19-55 division).
Also on stage are Canadian Country Music Award Winner and Guitar Player of the Year Steve Piticco, bass player Peter Sisk, Canadian Country Music Award Winner and Drummer of the Year Bill Carruthers, and 13-year-old champion step dancer Leo Stock.
Woods is a two-time winner of the Canadian Open Fiddle Contest, two-time winner of the Canadian Grand Masters Fiddle Championship, as well as Fiddle Entertainer of the Year.
Known affectionately as “The Flippin’ Fiddler,” he tours extensively across Canada and the U.S. every year raising funds for churches, charities, and community service organizations.
Woods and the band also tour in Germany.
