Hockey is a sport for everyone and the Fort Frances Girls’/Women’s Hockey Association is hosting an Esso Fun Days program this Saturday.
Esso Fun Days will run from 9-11 a.m. at the ’52 Canadians Arena is a free program for girls interested in trying out the sport for the first time in a relaxed, fun, on-ice environment.
Not only is hockey a great physical activity, it is a great way to establish lifelong friendships.
Full equipment is required and organizers will be happy to help anyone that wants to participate to borrow some if they sign up ahead of time.
The event will begin with open ice from 9-10 a.m. with shinny to follow from 10-11 a.m.
All girls are invited to celebrate and the FFGWHA is excited for their girls to come out.
They are also welcome to bring a friend that hasn’t played FFGWHA hockey before.
Girls who haven’t tried hockey before need to be signed up prior to the event by emailing info@ffgwha.com or texting Aimee Matheson at 276-4753.
Full equipment is required for insurance purposes and the FFGWHA can help find some gear to borrow if you let them know ahead of time.
Breakfast also will be served for all participants on Saturday, which includes juice, muffins and fruit.
