Fastball playoffs begin tonight

Sight & Sound begins defence of its Rainy River District Fastball League crown tonight.
The Wolves (14-2) will face the league’s lowest-ranked playoff team, eighth-seeded Sabaskong (2-12), courtesy their first-place finish after the regular season.
The first pitch is scheduled for 8 p.m. under the lights at VanJura.
In other RRDFL playoff action tonight, second-seed Rainy River (13-4) is home to face seventh seed Big Grassy (3-10-1) while third seed Barwick (9-7) hosts sixth-ranked Big Island (5-10-1).
And in what should be the night’s most competitive game (based on their regular-season records), number four Stratton (8-9) is at home to face fifth-ranked International Falls (7-8).
All three of these games are slated to start at 6:30 p.m.
Each of the eight teams are guaranteed a minimum of two games in the playoffs.
The league’s championship game is scheduled for Aug. 10 at 6 p.m. at a location yet to be determined.
