Fastball final could wrap tonight

Sight and Sound has its sights set on grabbing the brass ring.
The season-long leaders in the Rainy River District Fastball League need only to defeat Rainy River in tonight’s 8 p.m.
match-up at Vanjura Field to secure the championship.
But if Rainy River manages to pull out the victory, the playoffs will come down to a one-game, winner-take-all showdown Thursday night at Vanjura Field, also beginning at 8 p.m.
A Thursday game may also become a reality if tonight’s contest is washed out by possible thunderstorms which have been predicted for the area this evening.
Sight & Sound finished the regular season with a 19-2 mark, while Rainy River was second at 16-5.
Don Copenace of Sight & Sound won the home run race with 10 dingers, while teammate Duane Carlson was second with eight.
Harvey Flamand of Sight & Sound led all pitchers with a 9-0 record, while Murray Armstrong of Rainy River had the secondbest winning percentage with a 14-4 mark.
