Fastball all-stars hit field tonight

With the Rainy River District Fastball League playoffs set to start next week, some players in the 10-team loop will have one last game before the post-season gets underway.
The league’s annual all-star game goes tonight at 7 p.m. at Barwick.
“It’s a fun game for the players, for sure,” said George Oltsher, a long-time veteran with the Barwick Blue Knights.
“And with the playoffs getting underway next week, it certainly is nice to have this before we all start focusing on the league title,” he stressed.
Unlike most all-stars games, where a certain team may have more players than anyone else, the RRDFL makes sure there is equal representation.
“All 10 teams will have a player there on the field, which is the most fair thing to do,” Oltsher reasoned.
While the official playoff schedule has yet to be unveiled, Oltsher expects all information on match-ups will be finalized by tomorrow and posted on the league’s website.
The regular season was dominated by Beef’s Warriors, which won 15-straight games after dropping their second game of the season.
The Fort Frances-based Sight & Sound Wolves, meanwhile, enter the post-season in search of their third-straight RRDFL crown.
