Faragher signed by Gulls

Led Zeppelin would be pleased—Ryan Faragher is “Going to California.”
The 25-year-old goaltender and Fort Frances native signed a one-year deal with the San Diego Gulls of the AHL yesterday, one of four players inked by the Anaheim Ducks’-affiliated organization yesterday.
Financial terms of the contract were not released, as per club policy.
Faragher should see plenty of familiar faces on the Gulls, whom he played with when they were the Norfolk (Va.) Admirals last year.
The Admirals were purchased by Anaheim and moved west to significantly cut down on travel costs for any transactions involving the movement of players between the big club and the minor-league squad.
Faragher went 4-9-1 with a 2.57 GAA and a .901 save percentage in 15 games with Norfolk last year to go along with one shutout.
He split time between the Admirals and the ECHL’s Utah Grizzlies, where he was 10-8-3 with a 2.72 GAA, a .908 save percentage and one shutout.
Faragher signed a one-year contract with Anaheim in April of 2014 and was called up this past April and watched from the press box as the Ducks made it all the way to the Western Conference final.
