Faragher honoured

Starting Ryan Faragher in goal is a no-lose proposition these days for the Utah Grizzlies.
The 25-year-old Fort Frances native earned the ECHL’s goalie-of-the-week honours on Tuesday.
Faragher went 3-0 last week with a 1.67 GAA and .947 save percentage following a quick, two-day call-up to the AHL’s San Diego Gulls to serve as a back-up due to injuries.
He stopped 89-of-94 shots as the Grizzlies, the ECHL’s farm team of the Anaheim Ducks, swept three road games from the Alaska Aces.
Faragher wasn’t resting on his laurels, though, as he turned aside 27 shots last night as Utah doubled the visiting Colorado Eagles 4-2.
That improved his record to 7-0 for the season, with a 1.84 GAA and .947 save percentage—the latter of which has him tied for third in the ECHL.
The Grizzlies sit atop the ECHL’s West Division standings with a 7-3-1 record.
They hold a five-point lead over the Idaho Steelheads, whose roster includes Fort native Joe Basaraba at forward.
