Have you always wanted to try cross-country skiing?
Come take advantage of the free family ski rental day at the Rainy Lake Visitor Center in Voyageurs National Park this Sunday (Jan. 24) from 10 a.m.-4 p.m.
The park has both adult- and child-sized skis, boots, and poles available for use.
The Rainy Lake ice road, accessible at the Dove Island DNR launch, provides access to the park’s Black Bay ski trails.
The novice loop takes skiers through a beautiful birch forest.
Who knows, you may discover that cross-country skiing is your next favourite winter activity!
After skiing, warm up with a cup of hot cocoa inside the visitor center.
