In recent Novice action of the Emo-Devlin-Barwick Minor Hockey Association, International Falls scored seven times in the first period en route to a 15-2 romp over Emo OPP.
The visitors added two more goals in the second period, then iced the win with a six-goal outburst in the third.
International Falls also had little problem in Bantam action, dumping the Emo Predators 10-2 thanks to an eight-goal second period.
Ashe Woolsey and Jon Rolston netted singles for the Predators.
In Bantam exhibition action, the Midget girls were blanked 8-0 by the All Stars. Chris Mutz, Tyler Cottam, and Terry Carmody each tallied twice while Matt Badiuk and Wendal Smith added singles.
In Midget action, the Emo Cowboys skated away with a tough 3-1 win over the Legion (Fort Frances).
Travis Strachan opened the scoring for Emo but Patrick McCarthy tied up matters two minutes into the second. It was all Cowboys after that, however, as Craig McTavish notched the game-winner just 20 seconds later.
Nathan DeBungie added an insurance marker in the third.
Meanwhile, three games were played in the PeeWee division. Playing host to the Pinewood Blades, the Emo Cobras took a 4-0 bite into the visitors on goals by Devin Ball, Keith McTavish, James Saunders, and Jonny French.
But it was a different story in the Cobras’ second game against a girls’ squad (no name mentioned) who skated away with a 3-1 victory.
Darcy Smith, Kate Basaraba, and Joelle Madill hit the twine for the girls while McTavish netted the Cobras’ lone marker midway through the second.
And in girls’ PeeWee action, Emo Esso tallied six second-period goals as they dumped visiting Skates and Blades (Fort Frances) by an 11-1 score.
Lauren Krukoski led Emo’s attack with five goals while Carlee Bosma added a hat trick. Taylor Meyers added two goals, with Nicole Beadle rounding out the offence.
Melissa Payne got the lone goal for Skates and Blades.
In more recent PeeWee action, the Emo Cobras battled to a 2-2 with the Emo Thunderbolts. Matt Boven gave the Cobras a 1-0 lead in the first period, which held up until late in the third when Tyler Romyn and Ryan Kaemingh each scored to put the Thunderbolts up 2-1.
But Boven proved to be the hero as his second goal of the game evened up the contest.
And Baudette visited the Emo Esso Leafs for a friendly game, which turned out to be all Emo, scoring two in the first en route to a 6-2 win.
Ryder Woolsey led Emo with a hat trick while Jared Herbert had a pair of goals. Devin Myers added a single.
David Stay and Brian Hasbargen replied for Baudette.
