Emo wins

Emo beat ITS 4-1 here yesterday evening to kick off the Borderland Soccer League men’s playoffs.
Jason Peters and Jeff Friesen each scored for Emo in the first half.
ITS answered with a goal by Dave Pierce on a penalty kick, but the squad was unable to net the tying goal despite an offensive push towards the end of the half.
The beginning of the second half featured back and forth action by both teams, but two unanswered goals by Shane Ikert sealed the win for Emo.
Emo, which had finished the regular season with a 7-5-2 record, now will face Domino’s in the semi-finals tomorrow at 6:30 p.m. at the St. Francis Sportsfield pitch.
ITS (2-11-2) was eliminated from further playoff contention.
Men’s playoff action resumes tonight at 6:30 p.m. with Gillons’ playing Subway. On the women’s side, Curves will meet FFHS in a semi-final match.
