Emo Wings split pair of games

The Emo Wings split a pair of games in recent Novice action, beating Emo OPP 3-2 but then 5-2 to visiting Skates and Blades (Fort Frances).
Lauren Krukoski led the Wings against the OPP with a pair of goals, with Keith McTavish netting the other one. Colin Kaemingh netted both goals in a losing cause.
But it was a different story against Skates and Blades, who got goals from Blake Wepruk (hat trick), Jeff Cridland, and Cole Calder to earn the win.
Emo’s goal scorers were not available.
Meanwhile, Emo OPP got back on the winning track with a 6-3 win Saturday over the Lake of the Woods Maroons.
Cody Drennan and Tim Sharp led the attack with a pair of goals each while Colin Kaemingh and Jordan Meyers added singles.
Trans Mollberg (two) and Ian Segden replied for the Maroons.
In other action, the Emo Rockets battled Lake of the Woods White to a 1-1 draw, with both goals coming in the second period. Ryan Kaemingh scored for Emo with Jake Pelach tallying for the visitors.
In Atom action, Ryan Witherspoon had a hat trick to spark the Emo Selects to a narrow 5-4 victory over the Emo Hawks.
Jeremy Caul and Maverick Judson also scored for the Selects while Terry Carmody (two), John Roulston, and Tyler Huntley replied for the Hawks.
Fort Frances edged the host Emo Esso Leafs in Atom ‘AA’ play while Tagg’s (Bantam ‘AA’) trounced the Emo Esso Blues 9-1.
Jeff Friesen netted Emo’s lone goal late in the third to spoil the shutout. Terry Kellar (three), Jamie Davis (two), Jordan Wilson (two), Tyler Barker, and Andrew George scored for Tagg’s.
