The Emo Wings are still having problems winning a game against the Rockets in Novice hockey action.
Chris Mutz scored twice in the third period while Bryan Wayash netted a single to pace the Rockets to a 3-1 victory. Jordan Davis replied for the Wings, also in the third frame.
Then against the Emo OPP, the Wings were shot down 5-3 after falling behind 4-1 after two periods.
Terry Carmody led the OPP with the hat trick while Tyler Huntly and T.J. Roen added singles. Michael Badiuk, Chris Strachan, and Alex Marusyk tallied for the Wings.
The Wings also came out on the short end of a 4-3 score in their second game with the OPP. T.J. Roen (two), Cody Drennan, and Matt Beck tallied for the victors while William Brandon netted all three goals in a losing cause.
In two exhibition Novice tilts against Rainy River, the Wings once again were on the wrong end of a 4-3 count. The visitors led 2-0 in the first but the Wings roared back to even the game at 3-3 through two.
But Bryce Marmus completed his hat trick with the game-winning goal in the third for Rainy River, who got their other goal from G. Delvecchio.
The Wings scored all their goals in the second from Mike Badiuk, Jordan Davis, and Alex Marusyk.
But it was a different story when Rainy River tangled with the Emo Rockets, who exploded for a 10-2 victory on the strength of six second-period tallies.
Bryan Waywash led the way with four goals, William Brandon and Ryan Witherspoon each had two, and Maverick Judson and Braden Baker netted singles. Danny Usiski scored both goals for Rainy River.
Meanwhile, the Emo Selects skated to a convincing 11-3 win over the Gillon’s Sharks (Fort Frances) in Atom action. Brett Meyers and Dennis Mutz led the way with hat tricks while Tyson Romyn netted two. Devlin Allison, Matt Redford, and Jake Gill completed the attack with singles.
Roland Roy, Andrew Mickleson, and Matt Plante replied for the Sharks.
In PeeWee ‘AA’ competition, the Fort Frances KCs skated home with a 5-2 victory over the Emo Predators. Jeremy Bell (two), Ric Ricard, Cody Hayward, and Dennis Morrison tallied for the KCs while Tyler Barker and Mike Niskala replied for Emo.
In other PeeWee action, the Emo Panthers scored back-to-back victories over Emo Gillons’. Daniel Hettinga had the hot stick with six goals in the two games.
Finally, the Emo Cowboys blanked the visiting Fort Frances Oddfellows 5-0 in Bantam action at the Emo arena. Joel Wilson and Donald Kellar each had two goals while Jon Kinnear netted the other one.
