The Emo Selects won both their games in recent minor hockey action, first downing the MEC Bulldogs (Fort Frances) by a 3-1 count on goals by Eric Soucy, Tyson Romyn, and John Roulston.
Curtis Logue bagged MEC’s lone marker.
Then the Selects blanked Causeway (Fort Frances) 4-0 on the strength of two-goal performances by Brock Benjamin and Tyson Romyn.
Meanwhile, the Emo Esso Leafs split their two games, starting with a 3-1 victory over Gillons’ (Fort Frances), scoring one goal in each period.
Tyler Cottam paced the Leafs with two goals while Riley Caul added the insurance marker. Andrew Easton replied for Gillons’ in the first stanza.
It was a different story against the MEC Bulldogs, who got a third-period goal from Brent Lindberg to earn a 3-3 tie.
Brendon Bruyere and Kevin Bobczynski also scored for the Bulldogs while Brock Benjamin netted all three Emo goals.
In PeeWee action, Emo Gillons’ could not hold the Lions (Fort Frances) at bay, coming out on the short end of a 2-0 score (no goal scorers were listed).
The Emo Predators pulled one out in exciting fashion, scoring with less than a minute to go to tie Fort Frances 3-3.
Dylan McGinnis (two) and Joel Baker scored for Emo while Brett Perrault (two) and Luc Romaniuk replied for the Fort.
In the other PeeWee game, Esso (Fort Frances) nipped Emo Gillons’ 2-1 on Joe Yerxa’s game-winner at 1:03 of the third.
Josh McCarthy scored in the second frame to tie the score after Jake Esselink had given Gillons’ a 1-0 lead in the first.
Finally, in Midget action, the OPP (Fort Frances) laid down the law against the host Emo Blues and skated home with a 3-2 victory, getting all their goals in the third frame.
M. Rose, J. Yellowega, and D. Egan tallied for the OPP while Justin Hamilton and Garry Curtis replied for Emo.
