It wasn’t the weekend the Emo Bunnies ringette squad was hoping for, recording only one win against three losses against some tough opposition.
Emo only could muster two goals from the stick of B. Galusha in the first half as they fell 11-2 to Steinbach. S. Piche led the onslaught with five goals, L. Lafrenier and J. Schroeder each had two, while T. Schroeder and J. Lafrenier both netted one.
In their second game, Emo came out on the short end of a 11-1 score to Niverville, who led 5-1 in the first half and then flashed the light six more times in the second.
C. Rogehor (five), G. Giesbrecht (three), E. Rempel, A. Dueck, and C. Swatsky scored for Niverville while Galusha got Emo’s lone goal.
The shoe was on the other foot in Emo’s third game against Kenora-Keewatin, skating away with a 7-2 victory. Emo led 6-2 after the first half on goals by T. Meyers (three), Galusha (two), and C. Bosma. M. Lacombe and S. Peterson replied for Kenora-Keewatin.
Galusha netted the only goal of the second half.
But the Bunnies could not stay on the winning track, dropping an 8-2 decision to Powerview (Manitoba) in their fourth game. Emo fell behind 5-2 after the first half and could not recover.
A. McTavish and Galusha bagged Emo’s goals (the goal scorers for Powerview were not given).
