The Emo Atom Selects, led by Betty Meyers’ two goals, upended MEC (Fort Frances) 5-4 in recent minor hockey action.
Tyson Romyn, Ryan Mutz, and Richy Wieringa also scored for the Selects while Andrew Lundy (two), Josh Sigurson, and Pierre Jourdain replied for the visitors.
Meanwhile, Nathan DeBungee had four goals and Craig McTavish the hat trick to pace the Emo Leafs to a 7-1 victory over Causeway (Fort Frances).
Kyle Sigurdson tallied Causeway’s lone goal.
In Novice action, the Emo Rockets rocked Emo OPP 8-3. Maverick Judson fuelled the Rockets with four goals, with Brian Wayash (two), Ryan Witherspoon, and William Brandon also scoring.
Terry Carmody, Jordan York, and TJ Roen replied for OPP.
The Emo PeeWee Gillons’ earned two victories over the past week, including a close 3-2 win over Emo Esso on Jake Butcher’s goal with one minute left in the second.
Jeff Hyatt and Dillon McGinnis also hit the twine for Gillons’ while Matt Sisco and Tanner Ward tallied for Esso.
Then against the Colonels (Fort Frances), Jeff Hyatt netted his second goal of the game with about three minutes left in the second stanza to pace Gillons’ to a 2-1 win.
Bryan Chambers had tied the game in the first. The third period was scoreless.
Meanwhile, the Emo PeeWee Panthers erased a 2-1 deficit in the third to tie Fort Frances. Tyler Shannon scored both Fort markers while Jesse Toppe and Nylin White paced the Panthers’ attack.
Finally in Bantam action, the Emo Cowboys picked up a win and a tie in their two games, first beating the visiting Oddfellows (Fort Frances) by a 5-1 count.
Donald Kellar blasted home two goals in the win while Jeff Friesen, Jon Woodgate, and Joel Wilson netted singles. Randy Martin averted the whitewash with 40 seconds to play.
Then against another Fort Frances team, the Cowboys managed a 4-4 tie on goals by Kellar, Friesen, Jon Kinnear, and Nathan Shute.
Dennis Morrison, Andrew George, Andrew Mueller, and Jermaine Atatise replied for the Fort.
